Don't bother talking to me. I'll write a review when my head clears.

[EDIT]

THIS BOOK NEEDS MORE HYPE!!!

[cough] Anyway...

It took me 2 months to finish this book. Part 1 has a slow pacing and the author's writing style is so new to me that (ngl) was hard for me to read so I had to pause from time to time. Also Vis (our main character) was annoying in the first chapters, revealing things about himself when he was supposed to have a mysterious persona from the way he acts.

Enter Part 2, now the scenes are getting interesting. To sum up this Part with a quote:

"Pretending to have their interest at heart when in reality, you're just figuring out how to make the best use of them."

In this Part, we truly see how intelligent and cunning Vis is. How he thinks five steps ahead and memorizes the mistakes he made just to go back and clean it up to hide his intentions.

"They know the system is wrong, but they choose not to think or speak up or act because they ultimately hope that in their silence, they will gain... Don't mistake inaction for neutrality."

We also see that despite the golden puppet strings attached to Vis, he never loses his white heart identity from where he truly came from. He has boulders on his shoulders, ready to be crushed, but going back to his past while having people help him overcome it gave him the confidence to think straight and get back up on his feet again.

The Last Part: In Cauda Venenum - The venom is in the tail. The worst is yet to come.

This is becoming the Hunger Games: Roman edition. I cannot even fathom what to say about what's happening in Part 3. It's like you're on a Labyrinth [wink] running through different paths of different actions of different scenarios. The twists and turns make you keep reading. Tears were shed, and rage was felt. I cannot wait for the next book, on what Vis will decide to do.

Will he lose his humanity? Will he give forgiveness? Will he forget the connections he made? Will he become a different person?

Hoping on the next book we get a vengeful Vis
