The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yōko Ogawa

4.0

i adore Yoko Ogawa's writing so much. she continues to astound me and wrap me into her characters in a very nonchalant way. i find myself weeping over fictional older men with dementia without even realizing it. a housekeeper begins caring for an older math professor and you watch their relationship develop, as well as the housekeeper's son and the professor. it is such a testament to the meaning of time and memory and found family. a little too much baseball and math for my own personal taste, but still adored the characters and the writing nonetheless.
