Took me a while to get into it. If you want a slow burn... this is it. The romance is good, I liked the tension. I thought the building of the characters was also good, I like Deanna, and I like Mare, and the author did a great job of getting me to hate Thandi. However, I felt like the ending was rushed personally and would've like to see that play out longer, like much of the character development. The writing was very descriptive, if you're into that, but not world building. And if you're a horse girl, this is DEFINITELY the book for you, a lot of focus on horses (which makes sense bc it's important to the plot and Mare, yes her name is really Mare) and I am not a fan of horses so that was uninteresting to me.
