The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson

5.0

As a whole, I so thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. At times it felt clunky and the pacing seemed off, but overall I have a feeling that is a translation issue more than anything- too bad I cannot read Swedish!

Mild spoilers ahead.

Lisbeth Salandar is an amazing character, and I just adore her. One of the things I'm realizing I'm impressed with is Larsson's general ability to write strong women. I was also impressed with his ability to evoke the tiniest bit of empathy in me for Niederman. Don't know if that was purposeful, but there it is.

Truly, though, this was such an enjoyable read and an incredibly satisfying ending to the overall story. I was perhaps a little disappointed the Vangers weren't really mentioned in this last one at all, but I guess they didn't really belong.
