The man Marisa loves with turns out to be a manipulative compulsive liar who’s also married with kids. After a rough childhood, Asher is scared of turning out like either of his parents. It was supposed to be one night in Vegas. When one of them falls first and puts them in close proximity to each other, could it be more than just sex between them. How do you allow yourself to fall in love when you don’t feel worthy of it? How do wade through the images of your parents toxic love to realize that that you’re aren’t them and you are capable of giving/receiving real love? 

A Worthy Love is the book I didn’t know I needed. I relate to Marisa so much. I have been in situations that made me think I didn’t deserve real true love. While I haven’t found my Asher the way that he spoke life into Marisa was like he was talking to me. Marisa had difficult decisions to make. Her going through the process of making said decisions and her feelings afterwards helped me heal something within myself that I though I had dealt with. While reading Marisa’s story, I realized that I hadn’t dealt with it at all and had just pushed it back in my brain to not think about it. I cried with Asher because I feel like so many adults can relate to him. So many people deal with trauma in their childhood from their parents and they live their lives in fear of turning out just like them. You are able to change that narrative just like Asher did. This book helped me in ways beyond words and I will forever be grateful for the author writing it.
