Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak
4.0
I want to be honest here. I picked up this book because of the immense hype. It’s not a book that I would normally read though.
I gave it 4 stars because the story is good and I like the drawn pictures in it which are quite unique for this book and for this story.
The story was interesting but not a wowzer like everyone made it out to be.
Mallory, a former drug addict, gets nanny job to watch Teddy. Teddy seems like a sweet young boy but Mallory is a bit concerned about Teddy. Teddy is drawing pictures with a dead body in it and he also talks to Anya, his invisible friend. Her concern grows when even more unexplainable things happen and Mallory gets help from Mitzie, the crazy neighbor and Adrian. And nobody seems to believe Mallory when things really go sideways. Especially Teddy’s parents do not want to believe Mallory.
