Night Shade Academy

I give this book 3.75 stars
I enjoyed the story, it was different but still had your basic vampire, werewolf, and witch lore to it.
However, the author seemed to believe it was necessary to constantly bring up that the sisters were twins and while I understand this tid bit did have something to do with the plot, it was brought up much more than necessary. Basically anytime the sister was mentioned “it’s a twin thing” it was quite annoying. There are points where it was funny when it was being used as a joke or in the very beginning where it was part of getting to know the characters but it was almost as if the author thought you might forget if she didn’t bring it up every few pages. I just found it unnecessary and annoying.
The author also had a tendency to point out the obvious on multiple occasions, which it’s easy to tell this is the characters personality however I do feel like it was a bit much and could have been toned down a bit without changing the character.
The story itself was also a bit fast paced for the first in a series.
But all in all I did enjoy the story and the characters were likable. I would be interested in reading a sequel especially if the twin aspect was toned down a bit.
