One of Us Is Lying
by Karen M. McManus
I’m already shopping for the sequel. I loved this book. So as a writer, I’ve always wanted to write a book that had “the line.” Like that one sentence or one thing someone said that made the reader go “oh damn…” or that realizing “huh.” The line that just sticks with you and really makes you think or just puts everything together.
This book is that like. The entire book, the way it is put together and everything makes sense, it’s the line. It’s the “wow that was deep” or “dang I never thought of that” kind of idea and I love it. The characters are so real and I seriously relate to Addy. What I do love about this book is all the characters are stereotypical in the beginning and the idea of the book is also kind of stereotypical. Smart girl, popular girl, baseball player, and the bad boy— all pretty basic. But their development isn’t basic. They went from stereotypical to dynamic and I just love it. I 100% recommend this to anyone who loves drama and mystery. Great book.
