This was a wild ride and I absolutely enjoyed it!! We follow Isabelle who is desperately searching for her son Mason. He was snatched from his crib in the middle of the night and has now been missing for a year. With barely any help from the police or even her husband Ben, she receives help from an unlikely source, Waylon, the host of a true crime podcast. While digging into what happened the night Mason went missing, we learn some interesting details about Isabelle and the fact she has trouble sleeping and might not always remember whether or not certain events took place.

This book did not initially hook me like A Flicker in the Dark was able to, but once I was sucked in, I was fully invested in this story. Isabelle is considered an unreliable narrator and it really works for this story because there were times throughout where I was questioning whether or not to trust her. There were twists in here that I did not see coming which is definitely a step up from this author’s previous book because in that one I predicted early on what was going to happen. I also really liked how this book explored motherhood and what its like to lose a child and how that could affect a person, mixed in with that person also dealing with sleep deprivation. This book not only had the mystery aspect but as things were getting revealed it definitely tugged at my heartstrings. I am already impatiently waiting for this author’s next book!
