Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak
5.0

The story is definitely full of mystery and suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat and eager to uncover the truth.

Rekulak’s writing style is engaging and I found it easy to follow the story, almost as if I was watching a tv show.

There were some parts of the book that were a tad bit intense, so it wasn’t a read right before bed book, at times.. The book built a lot of tension leaving me wondering what was next even while I wasn’t reading. I could definitely see this being a movie.

Overall, Hidden Pictures was a great read that I recommend to anyone who enjoys thrillers and immersive stories.

Spoilers***

I was a little disappointed in the husband coming on to Mallory, just felt predictable and too common in books lately. But I guess it helped show how he felt about his wife and her actions.

I also thought it was weird how Adrian’s mom was so rude to her at the beginning then towards the end when she needed help (even though they hadn’t really spoken again since she was rude) the mom was allllll about helping her and going through hoops and tunnels to find info for her.

There were times when I would have expected Mallory to tell the parents about, like Teddy’s eyes rolling in the back of his head and just having white pupils. If I was babysitting and saw that I’d be like “hell nahhhh I’m out of here”

The twist felt like….I did NOT expect this at all, however when you look back at all the little details, like Mallory did, it makes sense.
