The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

This amazing book set in Paris, 1988 brought to life a group of misfits who pull an almost impossible heist riddled with obstacles and interventions from other.
First off, hats off to Roshani for forming such a diverse group of people that had almost nothing in common but still fit together like a jigsaw puzzle!
This found family made me smile and laugh but also cry for all they had been through and how they supported each other in whatever way they could!
Séverin is the leader of this group who has been denied his birthright and has been travelling form foster home to foster home all his life and now had formed this group as a way to reclaim his birthright. But, there's more to him than just that because while he is ambitious, he is also one of the most caring people ever as he helps the other achieve their goals.
Tristan, is Séverin's foster brother who continually does things that make you love him more and hate everything that has happened to him.
Laila, is an Indian girl searching for answers and looking for a book that will determine her fate. Though she is troubled with so many problems of her own, she always cares for others and bakes for them which makes her my favourite character!
Enrique, who is a Spanish-Filipino boy looking for recognition and wanting to be a part of something big but not considered enough for his youth and it just hurts my heart all the time.
Zofia, who is working hard to help her sister and trying to make connections when dealing with the world seems impossible to her because of her social anxiety.
Lastly, we have Hypnos, who is just looking for friends and to mend old relationships and is one character I can not wait to know more about!
All these characters are woven so beautifully and come together in a way that is so heartwarming,ing and makes this book such a great one! It is their stories which give the main plot meaning and make me root for them and hope they'll achieve success.
Further, Roshani has included such amazing puzzles for all these characters to solve and reading this book and looking at them was such a great experience as it built up an anticipation for whatever was to come next.
The pacing was also something I liked a lot. It was a bit slow in the beginning and also, the world building took some time for me which made me a little frustrated but after reaching chapter 15 or so, I flew through the rest of teh book as it picked up and all the action began and everything seemed to be moving in fast forward.
Lastly, props to Roshani for that ending because not only did she break my heart once, but twice and made me feel like I was dying and I just need the next book now because this one was amazing and you all need to read it too!
