Every Little Piece of Me by Amy Jones

4.0

This book was unlike any other that I've read before.

Focusing on two mediums that are rarely discussed in novels, let alone combined together - music and reality television - I knew right off the bat that this would be a very different story than I was used to. I was completely right. While I might have gone into this book with the concern that these two things wouldn't mash well and that the book wouldn't work, any hesitation I had completely vanished within the first few chapters. The characters and plot of this book are truly unique and gripping. What particularly stood out to me in this novel was the focus on the importance of female friendships, familial conflicts, and the sexism that women in the spotlight face, especially when being compared to their male counterparts.

I really enjoyed this book and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to read a book by a Canadian author!

Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
