[4.5] I must say that I really enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would. It was also a different book than I thought it would be. There is a profond sense of warmth throughout this book considering it is a murder mystery. You can almost forget the murder at times as you are swept into the landscape and gossip of this small corner of Tokyo. The mystery and details unravel slowly throughout the book but I was never bored. Kaga as the main detective serves as a through line that ties together all the episodic chapters in a really meaningful way. If you want a major plot twist, this is not the story for you. This story is less about the mystery and (lmao not to be cheesy) but the people you meet along the way.
