The Remarkable Ordinary: How to Stop, Look, and Listen to Life by Frederick Buechner
5.0
This was a great read and I found it at just the right time. Buechner is a great storyteller and this showed through so much in this book. The book was adapted from a series of lectures he gave a number of years ago, but they were blended together well here.
The book is filled with plenty of personal stories weaved together with Buechner's thoughts on God. He encourages the reader to take time to stop, look, and listen fo God in life before anything else; then to listen for God in the stories we tell; and then to tell the truth in the stories we share. I may have to read it again soon, because, even though it was a relatively short read, there was so much to take in.
If you've read Buechner before you will definitely enjoy this one. If not, then it's a great introduction to his writing.
