Death Note, Vol. 1: Boredom by Takeshi Obata, Tsugumi Ohba

4.0

i genuinely love this series so much. i am not the biggest manga or anime fan, but when it comes to death note it’s my absolute favorite.

tsugumi ohba’s story and characters are so interesting, the world he has built is amazing and i see why death note has so many spin offs and has sold so many copies. this is my first time actually reading the manga, and i really enjoyed it considering i don’t read a lot of manga.

this manga is more text heavy though, and because it’s so text heavy it can take away my attention from what’s going sometimes. but overall it keeps my attention really well because of how ohba creates his world and sets up the story. if you haven’t really watched anime or read manga, definitely give death note a try because it’s a perfect beginner’s favorite.
