This was… dark… like “starting a Lynn Painter book immediately after finishing this” dark, but I had a lot of fun!!
It was good starting to see the consequences of their actions, cause filthy rich or not we reap what we sow, right? The plot carried well and I actually enjoyed the timeline and bought their relationship both past and current, and the reason why they ended on such a bad note and their reactions when they ended up back in each other’s lives
I can’t rate it higher cause though it felt like a compulsion and I wouldn’t put it down, there was something about the pacing that threw me off, and I just didn’t fully buy into the romance and how toxic it felt, but I will continue with the series (after a short, fluffy break before Thatcher’s book cause I know!!)
