A "method" book where the author takes the total of a full London train (252) plus the conductor and writes exactly 253 words about each of them as the train travels on a course to a crash. We learn what each looks like and what brought them to this moment as well as what they are thinking.

A great concept - especially for the internet, where this was first published. The footnotes seemed unnecessary and often distracting or a way for the author to feel more academic. The only trouble with this book is keeping track of the people and maintaining a sense of "story" or connection. The final portion which details the crash helped to piece it all together.
