Once again, Bjorn and Freya are enemies and it seems like everyone is out to get them. A war is still looming on the horizon, but who is in the right and deserves Freya's shield is in question. As a new destiny for Freya is told, it threatens to unravel what is left of her self control and sanity. She has to choose between the two goddesses whose blood runs in her veins. Is she a protector or a destroyer?
There are a few upsides compared to the first book, mainly that there were only a few times Freya needed to throw up. A Fate Inked in Blood felt rather predictable and while A Curse Carved in Bone did fall into that camp on occasion, there was no way I was going to be able to predict that plot twist.
I'm going to be totally honest, I almost DNFd this book. I put it down for months because I just didn't care about the story. Yes, the second book felt a little less predictable, but the same storylines felt like they were being repeated over and over again. It felt soooo tropey. We got the enemies to lovers trope in the first book and the second book read like a repeat of the same thing.
Overall, I will not say that this is a good book but overall I'm glad I finished the book, and the series.
