The Pedestrian: A Fantasy in One Act by Ray Bradbury

5.0

I found this story very interesting and erie. The thought that there is no one walking outside, and that no one wants to feel the fresh air or move their legs feels too real. This seems like something that could happen, which the way society is moving, which makes it scarier. The idea that police officers are no longer needed and that the one who is still around is making petty claims emphasized the lack of activity. This is further pointed out when the police questions him if his air conditioner is still providing cool air, as fresh air is probably not a concept that he hears often. Although it was not clear what was happening in the last scene, I had the feeling that the man was being brought to a mental hospital because of his differences. Another possibility is that the man is being unlawfully punished, which would comment on the corruption of society and the police force.
