The Murders of Molly Southbourne
by Tade Thompson
This was picked for a book club, and I meant to just skim a little bit of the first few pages because I was so curious about the synopsis and I just wanted to get an idea of what the book was like. Then I basically didn't move for a few hours until I read the last page. It was so incredibly interesting and addicting, and the writing a bit strange but easy to read as well. There is kind of an explanation of the weirdness going on towards the end, but I wished it wasn't so info dumpy in how the author explained it. I also didn't feel any sort of attachment or emotional investment in the characters. But it was still such a weird fun time, and the ending was just perfect. It definitely isn't for everyone but I think it just may be my brand of weird.
