Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh

adventurous dark mysterious tense fast-paced

4.0

Would this have creeped me out as a kid? Well it's a middle grade possession story, Korean exorcism and all! Genuinely quite intriguing and lowkey kind of scary as well. Loads better than The October Witches, so I'm glad I swiftly dnf'ed that one and moved on. This was interesting from the get-go and was fairly tense throughout. As always, we have a dopey-ish parent who doesn't want to see what's going on in front of their eyes and the other is just...trying, so I can't blame him. I'm interested to see where this story goes because this first installment was a hit.
