Brothersong by TJ Klune

Reading Heartsong and then listening to Brothersong back to back was probably not the best idea because I feel drained. This audiobook is almost 20 hours long and the narrator just isn't it. He might also be Party to blame why this was my least favourite Green Creek book. He seriously gave Gavin a boy voice (as in not an adult), which gave the romance between him and Carter an icky touch. This might have not been such a big problem with other pairings but with Gavin's mental age not being that clear it left a bad taste.
I really enjoyed how Gavin and Carter got under each others skins and were just no willing to admit their feelings. Their obtuseness was endearing though I personally would have preferred for them to become friends. I never really felt the spark or attraction but more of a brotherly, platonic love. I probably feel this way because of the humour between the two.
I only just finished the book and the plot is already fuzzy. I felt like overall this was the most romance-centric in the series with the overarching conflict with Robert Livingstone taking place on the sidelines.
Overall this was a solid ending to the series though Wolfsong stays my favourite until the end.
