The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James

5.0

“Being a girl is the best, because no one ever believes you’ll do something bad. People will think youll do nothing which means you can do anything.”

this book is the kind of book that would be amazing reading during Halloween.

It is absolutely spooky she describes the atmosphere so well that I had to put my book down bc I was terrified.

What really sold me was how much I related to the main character SHEa and the side character Beth. Shea is a homebody and never goes out of her comfort zone and this book shows how she develops from that and jt honestly inspired me. And Beth was automatically named strange bc she was a loner. And I completely relate.

I’m not really one to hate characters it happens quite rarely for me, but I found my self justifying everything they did bc GIRL POWER. This is basically the female version of the zodiac killer.

I honestly loved everything about this book from everything tying together to all the relationships she had with everyone and how they helped her grow. And bonus point there’s a cat! And she shit talks marriage and I was absolutely living for that.

And the way she describes being in the mansion just makes you feel like you are experiencing everything horrible that she has.

Honestly one of my fav spooky books!
