While You Were Out: An Intimate Family Portrait of Mental Illness in an Era of Silence by Meg Kissinger

5.0

This book will break your heart and infuriate you, and I think it should be required reading. It was personal for me, coming from a family where severe mental illness and suicide are all too common, but you definitely do not need that connection to feel something from this book. It is both a book that can make you feel seen, or help you to see. Will be recommending it for years to come.
