Sigh…

I’m so glad to finally be done with this book! I DNFd the ARC in 2022. I thought that I wasn’t in the right headspace to receive it because of my own drama. I tried the Kindle edition a few weeks ago and almost DNFd it again. It just wasn’t grabbing me. Determined to finish it so that I can tackle book 2 for my book club, I switched to the audiobook because it was on sale. The story was so full of angst and whining. I got tired of it. It took too long for the story to get good to me. The one thing that I really liked was Josiah pushing back about jumping back into things like nothing happened. His concerns about getting hurt again were real and raw. Overall, the story was just okay for me. It felt like another instance of bookstagram overhyping something.
