Don't Let the Forest In

This was hauntingly beautiful. For a young adult novel, the horror aspect is on a level I wouldn’t have expected, but I absolutely loved it. The writing is so eerie and flowery in that gothic prose kind of way that I felt completely immersed in every word.
Andrew and Thomas, my tortured lover boys. They felt so much, and all that emotion seeped straight off the pages and into my heart. I was so caught up in their story that I had to keep pausing it to take a moment to process my emotions. That, on top of the unfolding mystery, had me completely overwhelmed, yet anxious to turn the page.
This book is one of those that leaves you feeling utterly drained and unable to do anything but stare at the wall after you’ve finished reading it. I can’t even go touch grass because that would just remind me of them.
Highly recommend listening to this one to experience being swept up in the forest along with these beautiful boys.
