i wanted to like this more and like love a strong female friendship obvi but idk i felt the author too strongly in it (but in a way that took me way out). was v twilight but for suburban, middle aged, women who feel stuck in their lives but feminist. the themes also felt so heavy handed (and were themes that were so suburban white woman is discovering what it means to be a woman in the world but in a way that is v one dimensional + not intersectional at all).
also. i just on principle don’t believe straight vampire stories. vampires r inherently queer. straight just doesn’t work.
