This is an enemies to lovers story in every way, and it’s incredibly fun to watch it unfold. The writing was smooth, the dialogue was fairly witty, and there were parts that were so genuinely funny I was laughing out loud.

The story felt believable, the pacing was excellent, and there was actual character development. The hijinks that bring the characters together didn’t seem forced, but were also completely ridiculous. The hero and heroine weren’t overly perfect, and the storyline was interesting enough to have me read it all in one go. What can I say? Eli is just a real dishy hero. 🔥 Full disclosure: there are a lot of spicy scenes. Also full disclosure: I did not hate it. Probably four point five jalapeños out of five, but only for the frequency, not content, of the scenes.

This is an ensemble book but the large cast of characters were clearly defined and added to the story rather than distracting from it. It made me want to read others in the series.

Edit: the others in the series were not as good, but ok.
