I was hooked from the first sentence! I absolutely adored this. It was the perfect blend of fantasy, mystery, and a little bit of a historical setting. Nash's writing was wonderful and I flew this book, devouring every word. The characters were realistic and well rounded. The plot was easy to follow but was complex enough to keep the reader engaged and not bored. I appreciated the author providing an author's note, character listing, and glossary. It was super helpful and provided context to their story.
I cannot wait to get my hands on the next in the series and read more from Byrd Nash.
