Murder on Sex Island
by Jo Firestone
OMG, I loved it so much! It came out as a suggestion on my library’s website and I got hooked at the “psycho-sexual-thriller” sticker on the cover page.
The book is funny, real good quality comedy. The mystery is well written and it’s easy to follow the story despite the many (very similar) characters.
Perhaps the ending was not perfect: it has that chapter that it reminded of those awkward flashbacks in the movie where it’s revealed that the protagonist did something prior to the ending and now ta-daa they’ve solved the mystery. I don’t think it was well inserted into the storyline. There are no clues during the reading of the book that we would receive an explanation like this at the end, it just comes off as weird.
But overall, definitely a unique funny story and character I wouldn’t mind seeing in a new adventure.
