This is the first Darcy Coates book I've read, and I am an immediate fan! How Bad Things Can Get is a non-stop, adrenaline-filled fight for survival as an elaborate island gameshow for influencers descends into bloodshed amidst cultish conspiracies, hidden pasts, and isolation. Think Fyre Festival meets Jonestown. This cult thriller/slasher is practically dripping with blood and gore, but it's so addictive that you won't want to stop reading!
Quotes:
"This is a dark facet of humanity: Whenever a peaceful flock grows large enough, wolves begin to sneak between the tender bodies." p.72
"Audiences love a villain. Tragedies are more cathartic when there's someone to blame." p.88
