Before I start my review, I would like to acknowledge the fact that this was written as Middle Grade. I may have liked it better when I was the targeted audience.
I don’t know where to start. I guess to simply put it, I didn’t like the book. All of the characters felt one dimensional, the plot wasn’t anything I haven’t read before, and the story just didn’t grip me.
Edit: I also found myself uncomfortable at the way the author described bigger people. There are ways to talk about people that are overweight without describing how their bottom fills the chair and more.
