took me a while to get into the book… but once that happened i genuinely got sucked in man. the politics, backstabbing and general chaos and treachery going on kept me so hooked and everything really took off once nemesis found herself sent to (i’ve already forgotten the name of the place. heliosphere?). i thought the development of nemesis’ character and humanity was quite interesting and the portrayal of female friendships felt true to me, although i wish more mention of neveni had been made towards the end….

tbh the writing style bothered me initially because it felt almost dry? but i realise it can also be interpreted as nemesis’ inner monologue and the b&w manner she sees the world, although i don’t think the narrative style develops alongside her character either. the world building was just weird at some points too, with the science elements feeling absurd and plucked out of no where like anti gravity dancing lmao

overall sci fi books are not normally my thing, but the political intrigue and betrayals got me hooked
