So for the ost part, I'll have to refer you to my review of [b:Hiero's Journey|479304|Hiero's Journey (Hiero, #1)|Sterling E. Lanier|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1316409798l/479304._SY75_.jpg|467721] because mostly all the same applies. The book is awful, but I love it anyway. And yes, this book has 350 or so exclamation points.
This book seems a bit more rambly than the first, and the lack of an ending is a bit frustrating. But, if you made it through the first one and got any enjoyment out of it, you're probably going to read this one, so my review probably doesn't matter in the least.
