Big disappointment after Matched. The world development that I liked so much in the first book slows down greatly in this installment. For me, it felt like it could have been half as long (or even shorter) to get through the core story elements and new details on the world of the Society. I'm less excited to continue following the story than I was after reading Matched. It's further proof that not every great tale needs to be told in a trilogy. All that needs to happen in this volume is for Cassia and Ky to be reunited and to learn about the Rising. Why that couldn't have been condensed to a couple of chapters at the end of Matched or the start of Reached won't be apparent until the third book comes out. It better be chock-full of awesomeness ...
