Here are my ramblings for From the Jump:

The Pros:
*The writing itself is spectacular. It flows really well between now and then with the story taking place in mostly the now.
* I love the message of “you don’t have to be perfect”. Just be you.
* It’s a slow burn, friends to lovers.
* Deiss had to grow on me. I could see that he cared for Liv but I questioned him a lot. I am super grateful the author clears some of my misgivings up later on in the story. I also kinda dig that he had to grow on me. It was refreshing.
* If I ever have a cat, I want the cat to be just like Cat Stevens

The Cons:
* I am not a fan of Simone….at all.
* The story ends too quickly. All is forgiven so fast and in reality, things do not work out that way. It takes time to get over that kind of betrayal.
* The friends group is problematic.. None of them want to appear vulnerable with each other but vulnerability is a big part of friendship. They have a surface level friendship. Each character is afraid to share things about themselves because they are afraid they will not be accepted. I don’t think it ever gets resolved really. The characters are only vulnerable with their love interests (thank goodness for that).
* The cover doesn’t match the story although it is gorgeous.

Pros and Cons aside, I would definitely recommend it for others to read.

Thanks for you for the advance copy!! All opinions are my own.
