This is so close to a five for me. I love the characters and the plot both a lot. As a person who loves museums and art and history it hit really hard for me, and it offered deeper emotional range on a topic ive only thought about academically.
I definitely will find this book to be an easy rec for a number of different kinds of readers. Very accessible but poetic at the same time.
I only hold back the five because it felt like it needed 25-50 more pages. Daniel and Lily didnt feel wrapped up as characters. Also there were places where the style (which i overall like!) Kind of muffled the impact of twists.
