Down the Drain by Julia Fox

adventurous dark emotional sad tense fast-paced

5.0

In this tell-all book, Julia Fox details her life from her childhood in Italy to her eventual rise to stardom. She shares the good, the bad, and the ugly, and adds reflective comments on her journey. I read this as an audiobook and Fox narrates it herself. She does a magnificent job and the whole book reads as a sitting in a confessional.

I didn't know a lot about Julia Fox going into this book. I knew about her high profile relationship, role in uncut gems, and the fact that she dabbled in modeling. That's really it! I was extremely surprised by her story. This woman has lived quite a life, and I commend her for sharing these experiences with us. After reading her book and I am genuinely rooting for her and wishing her some well-deserved peace.

I want to note that the life Fox has lived has not been easy and she truly spares no detail, so please check your trigger warnings before reading this book. There are a lot of topics covered that will be difficult for some readers, and your mental health is very important!

If you like memoirs/autobiographies, I highly recommend this book.
