This book made me so angry and I actually visited Manningtree while reading it. Just men fucking things up because they're scared of women since time immemorial. The whole witchcraft thing was so unfair and simply a way of punishing poor and disenfranchised women. I really loved the way this was written, it was poetic and frankly a bit weird. Not the usual style of writing I enjoy but I stopped trying to analyse the word choices and just let it go and it made more sense that way.

I enjoyed all the characters especially the main character's mother although the men did not fair well in this. I recommend it but it isn't an easy read.
