It took me a little while to get into this book. The writing is a little choppy and I felt like Iris most of the time, as I was having a hard time finding out what was going on. It really started to get good in the end and then of course, it was done. I really would like to read the next book so I can find out more. I am hooked now.
I did like the characters close to Iris. I felt like I really was getting a good idea of who they were and I would like to know more about them also.
This is a different kind of read compared to many other books that seem to be doing the "end of world" theme or the supernatural (vampires, werewolves, fairies) and I really enjoyed it. The whole bird theme is genius!
