Home Body is the third poetry book by Rupi Kaur. Divided into four parts: mind, heart, rest and awake. Rupi take us on a journey of how one can feel disconnected from themselves personally and being the journey back to one's self. This was the first book i tried the "tabbing" technique on and i may have went a little bit overboard lol. There were many poems that i personally resonated with, especially in the "heart" section of the book. Rupi definitely lets her pen flow when it comes to gender and racial equality. Her poems embody the definition of femininity and what it means to be a woman of color in America. As far as cons for this book there were times that i felt like the poems didn't flow cohesively, but i personally think that was done on purpose seeing that the theme of the poetry book was feeling disconnected and then taking the journey to become whole again. Some poems can also be very triggering because of the mentions of the triggers/content warnings above. Shout out to Rupi's therapist because i know they having a field day with her sessions because whew chile....THE TRAUMA!!!
