Did not finish book. Stopped at 11%.
Im not gonna critique this based on the warnings as I knew fully what I was getting into, sometimes I want to read something fucked up and this is so popular despite the warnings so I figured there must be something interesting going on. However I could barely get to chapter 44, I was bored. Bored to the point of /tears/. Trying to read this felt like pulling teeth. Look I only got 11 percent of the way in but FOURTY FOUR CHAPTERS, and not a single character did anything but annoy me. Mo Ran is painfully stupid and annoying and Chu Wanning's constant woe is Me, who could love someone so ugly and foul tempered shit got old really fast. Side characters are used for comedic bits that fall flat. The little of the plot I read was contrived and predictable and parts of it echoed other popular danmei novels which maybe wasn't intentional but who knows. Maybe it gets more interesting later on but I'm not about to wade through over 300 chapters to find out.
