Deceptions by Kelley Armstrong

2.0

Here's the thing: Going back to Kelley Armstrong books is a treat. I love her writing, I think her stories are interesting and take unique spin on things. And I like this story... Or what lies under the story after getting past all the love triangle bullshit.

When I picked up the first book of this series, I thought it was so interesting. The second book kinda turned me the wrong way and this third book was a bit of torture to read through. I thought the first book set up a relationship perfectly - apparently I was wrong.

I don't think Ricky is a bad character, I just don't see the attraction. There's nothing there between him and Olivia besides sex. I'm going to continue on with the series because I know things happen later that intrigue me, but boy, was this hard to get through.

Spoiler I looked at reviews and saw that Olivia has a relationship with Gabriel at the end, and I want to get to that part. I don't care about Ricky at all and the fact that I have to read about them having great sex every five pages is annoying. Also pointless bar cat fight? Please don't.

Armstrong has done this in what feels like two others of her series, where I have to slog through the bad love interest to get to the good one and the more interesting story.
