A melody of grief, love, and second chances—this story sang straight to my heart.

Ashley Poston has done it again. Sounds Like Love is a heartfelt, lyrical, and emotionally charged story that masterfully blends magical realism with small-town nostalgia and deep emotional resonance. If you loved The Dead Romantics, this one will absolutely hit you in the feels.

Joni is such a beautifully flawed and relatable character—her creative block, emotional fatigue, and search for meaning felt so real. The setting of Vienna Shores and the generational ties to The Revelry added a touch of wistfulness and warmth that perfectly balanced the more melancholic threads of the story. Add in a mysteriously telepathic connection with a grumpy yet swoony musician, and you've got a recipe for one of the most unique romances I’ve read (or rather, heard) in a while.

The audiobook was a standout experience. Patti Murin’s narration was excellent, and the inclusion of singing throughout the production made it feel like magic. Her voice and pacing gave life to the emotion and rhythm of the story in such a special way—highly recommend listening if you can.

Final Thoughts: Magical, romantic, and a little bittersweet, this book is a love song to healing, creativity, and human connection. Ashley Poston proves once again why she’s one of the best voices in romance right now.
