If you are looking for a constantly shifting, dark, twisty book with a Gothic feel, The Thirteenth Tale is the book for you. It would be a great read for readers who love Rebecca or Jane Eyre. It is hard to categorize The Thirteenth Tale by genre because of its timeless feel - Does it take place now or in the past? Is it a mystery or realistic fiction? Warning that the book does have some seriously disturbing overtones. While there are not graphic descriptions, cruelty and violence play a major part in the plot.
