A Quiet Place by Seichō Matsumoto

2.0

Plot development a bit tiring for a read, draggy and some repetitive narratives. The thrill was not much, even the mystery seems a bit flat for me. Not much suspense or triggering scenes that could catch my attention. The first half of the book was really descriptive-- character became to absorbed in his speculations, some lengthy babbling and his obsessiveness towards his wife's death. Not much of a compelling plot, very typical indeed. From disturbing death of a wife to digging up the truth, grudge and retribution, an act went to far and karma hits. Quick fast-paced last chapter with an expected ending.
