Tribal Justice: The Struggle for Black Rights on Native Land by Allison Herrera
challenging
informative
slow-paced
5.0
This book shed light on the complexities of the McGirt decision and quantum laws for black indigenous peoples. It lightly explored anti-blackness, but kept the story relatively small and concentrated on our veteran and Afro indigenous man, Michael. The reporter did a good job of bringing empathy to his case and making you feel the frustration of his life and showing how Friedman citizenship is used as a weapon within outside of the community.
Moderate: Violence and Police brutality
Minor: Child abuse and Gun violence
