I have mixed feelings about this book. At times, it is an interesting and emotional depiction of women's suffering at the hands of men. The familiar story which has so often been retold through the men is definitely a good background for speaking about oppression. This book could have been amazing. But it wasn't. It is slow at times and falls flat. It drags on where it shouldn't, misses the opportunity to speak on so many issues and therefore becomes quite one-dimensional.
