The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson, Chris Tebbetts

4.0

This is the first in a continuing series of books by Patterson geared towards young adults. It follows the life of narrator Rafe Khatchadorian and his first year of middle school at Hills Valley. Rafe comes up with a plan to keep his interest throughout the year. With his friend Leo the Silent, he comes up with the game to break all the rules in the school code book without getting caught along the way. I liked that the format of this story included many real life situations alongside its many hyperbolic ones. Rafe is just regular kid trying to take the hand he's been dealt and make it interesting. The book contains many illustrations to go along with the story, and many also continue the story line. In all I found this a very quick and entertaining read. For anyone looking for a fun humorous read, this is your book!
