3.5 stars. This YA sci-fi book started quite slow and a bit confusing with all of the made up sci-fi-ish names but once I was around 150 pages in, I started to warm up to the characters and the story. I haven't read a YA book in a while but this was relatively clean and I enjoyed reading it.
